Yamaha YZF R6 Review

The Yamaha YZF R6 is a favorite among high speed riders and for a good reason. This bike comes with a fantastic chassis, along with plenty of other features. First off, Yamaha upgraded this bike’s look, which is stunning to say the least. The brakes and front end, in particular, make the Yamaha YZF R6 truly stand out.

Unfortunately, the peak power of this bike is reduced due to the constraints of Euro 4. Despite this, however, the bike runs incredibly well and is the only bike upgraded according to the regulations of Euro 4. While many would argue that this bike is only for the track, it is perfect for regular commute as well, especially if there isn’t too much traffic.

The Yamaha YZF R6 is capable of covering fifteen thousand miles no matter how the weather is and can cover massive distances. While many thought that the manufacturer would update this bike to ensure it meets the emission regulations of Euro 5, it did not happen.

Like the previous iterations of the YZF series, this one also has an aluminum frame, with the trail and rake almost the same. However, they do have adjustable forks inspired from the renowned R1. R6’s front wheels are lifted from Yamaha’s MT 10 and can accommodate a front disk of about 320 mm. Another thing that this bike borrowed from the R1 is its radial master cylinder and calipers, which shows that Yamaha really did try to go all out with this model.

This bike is more stable compared to the older models and this was possible because of the inclusion of ABS brakes. What’s more, the forks incorporated in this bike give riders the confidence to hit the brakes quite late, something that wasn’t possible with previous iterations of the R6. Once you turn this beast on and take it for a ride, you will notice right away that its accuracy and agility on track are fantastic, hitting every apex seamlessly.

Steering the R6 is quite easy and it steers with hundred percent accuracy. That said, the bike may understeer in certain areas, especially with mud, but it will not be too big of an issue. This bike’s top speed is around 165 miles per hour, with 16000 RPM, proving to be a delight for speed freaks. While the R6 by Yamaha is a high revving supersport bike, there haven’t been any complaints about this model.

This could mainly be because the most recent R6 version is based on the previous model, which was highly reliable. Some riders have stated that this bike tends to struggle when the rpms are low, but that is about the only issue a select few people have reported about the Yamaha R6. Overall, this bike is definitely worth the investment and offers track riders incredible value for their money.
