Best Youth Dirt Bike Gloves

  1. Fox Racing Youth 180 Trev Gloves
    4.5

    Protection & Durability:★★★★☆

    Value For Money:★★★★★

    Features:★★★★☆

    Comfort:★★★★★

    Style:★★★★★

When it comes down to choosing the right glove for your child, Fox really went above and beyond with these. Shaped with a youth-specific fit and a compression hook and loop cuff ended with a strong velcro securing point, this is yet another great glove on the market for the young motocross riders of today.

Light, nylon material makes up the top half of the glove, with a stretch mesh between the fingers, ensuring air flows through and cools off the hands. The palm is padded with a single layer of Clarino which gives a really comfortable feel while keeping the gloves from feeling bulky. These are some of the best youth gloves for avoiding blisters too.

The fingertips are also silicone covered which aids hugely in grip while your young rider tears into the terrain and hone in those skills he/she is developing. Great glove manufactured by a great brand! 2. Answer Youth AR1 Gloves
    4.7

    Protection & Durability:★★★☆☆

    Value For Money:★★★★★

    Features:★★★★☆

    Comfort:★★★★★

    Style:★★★★★

Next we’ll have a look at the Answer 2020 Youth AR1 gloves. A spectacular-looking glove that takes comfort to the next level, and can be bought for a very affordable price! Fitted with a well-crafted hook and loop velcro cuff ensuring a secure close and a strong synthetic leather palm covering for great grip on those handlebars, this pair of gloves is a great starting point for your little one.

The thumb area has the Amara #2 guard for protection and the index and middle fingertips are equipped with silicone grippers making slipping on the brakes a rare occurrence.

It is another lightweight glove made from materials that allow tons of movement from the fingers while still fitting the hand nicely and snugly.

If there is one concern it would be the lack of protection on the knuckle area – although many gloves exclude this feature and opt for flexibility instead, I wouldn’t say this is a huge blemish. All in all, they are still a great pair of gloves that i would definitely recommend. Just make sure they suit the activity and level for which you purchase them.

The Fox Dirtpaw Youth Gloves follow in the footsteps of their father product, the Fox Dirtpaw Adult Gloves

Ticking all the boxes required, these are a pair of lightweight gloves which still keep safety a priority. Reinforced knuckle protectors, padded palm area for comfort & grip, and silicone fingertip covers which make grabbing for that break or clutch lever a breeze are all some of the key features you’ll get in this pair of gloves. They also have a great elasticity feel to them making any movements of the hand or fingers comfortable and easy. All this makes them one of the best youth gloves for both motocross and trail riding.

The cuff has a velcro strip which is fed through a hook and then looped and fastened. This is great for alleviating any irritation from objects that may usually find their way into your gloves on a days out riding.

If there is one con to them it would be cold weather. They are built more for the warmth than the cold as the material is nice and breathable. All in all it’s clear why they are a favorite in the Best Youth Dirt Bike Gloves category and I would recommend this product.

A glove probably as well round as you are going to find when looking at the youth dirt bike gloves options. O’Neal nailed it with this one! Designed to fit the hand perfectly while still allowing for movement of the fingers with comfort & ease. This is due to the durable Nylon material used in the manufacturing process. If I had kids, this is definitely a glove I’d be happy for them to ride with.

This pair of gloves are also quite the eye catcher and offer a beautiful print design on the top with the manufacturer’s name running down the index finger. Both thumbs are reinforced and the palm area has a synthetic leather layer for great grip on the bars.

O’Neal have also followed a pre-curved mold with these gloves that makes them a really comfortable wear, while eliminating arm pump you might experience on those longer rides. Ended off with a hook and loop cuff closure to keep dirt out of them in the unfortunate case of a fall, i think these are a great pair of gloves if you like the aesthetics of them!

What to Look For When Purchasing Dirt Bike Gloves for Children

That’s it! Six pairs of youth dirt bike gloves that I at the First Checkpoint recommend you take note of when sifting through the masses. The gloves we have discussed have all passed through a criteria test which I like to do before suggesting any motocross gear to someone.

Safety, Durability, Comfort, Price & Manufactured by a globally recognized brand.

Safety & Durability

Safety is obviously extremely important. The comfort and appearance means nothing if the gloves aren’t able to carry out their most fundamental job which is protecting your hands! A good, tough material with palm padding is non-negotiable. Further than that, knuckle guards and reinforced support of the fingers & thumbs is awesome too, but does limit the hands dexterity while worn.

Comfort

Comfort is the next characteristic I’d look at when purchasing your next youth dirt bike gloves. They are at the end of the day the only thing in between your hands and the handlebars which massively contributes to controlling the bike. Once you’ve got the gloves covered, check out how you can improve your grip with these dirt bike grips

Without comfort your safety can start becoming a concern so i’d recommend always checking size charts before purchasing. You want a snug fit on the palm and fingers but making a fist and keeping your hand in the position for extended periods of time must be easy & effortless.

Price

Lastly, let’s speak about price & what you should pay! When it comes to protecting your son/daughter I’m sure we can all agree, the helmet you buy is the number one priority and where the thicker portion of your budget should go! From there I’d say boots and then gloves – however kids hands and feet do grow fast so be aware that this might not be the only pair you need to buy! That’s why I’m all for a pair that ticks all the ‘What to look for’ boxes, but at a reasonable price!
